MIGRANT SUMMER SCHOOL 2025

Mount Adams School District is accepting applications for the 2024-25 Migrant Summer School. 

Position Title: Migrant Summer Supervising Teacher - 1 to 2 Certificated Teacher Positions Available; serving preschool students

The 2024-25 Mount Adams Migrant Summer School Model is to provide scheduled in-home instructional visits aligned with the WaKIDS GOLD assessment (Social-Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, Language, Literacy, and Math) for preschool Migrant Program qualifying students and their parents/guardians.

 

The daily scheduled visits will determine the work day which could require possible split days and flexible work hours to meet the needs of participating students and their families/guardians. 

 

Migrant Home Visit Summer Program Information: 

Professional Development: TBD 

Home Visits Schedule: June 23rd to July 11th, flexible seven-hour day

Supervising Teacher Qualifications: 

Washington Elementary endorsement preferred; ELL endorsement preferred or evidence of successful application of sheltered instructional strategies. Bilingual, Bi-literate, Bi-Cultural Spanish preferred. Teaching experience/training in math fact fluency, wordless books, family literacy. Preference extended to candidates available for the entire length of assignment. Excellent organizational skills. Understanding of English Language Development and Home based instruction. Excellent communication skills. Interpersonal skills, being able to relate to students and adults, flexibility.Knowledge of reading. History of reliability,

dependability, and punctuality. Computer skills. Positive attitude. Be professional in action and appearance. Skill and experience with MSDR database helpful. Valid Washington Driver's License and insurance.

 

Supervising Teacher Duties and responsibilities: 

  1. Conduct successful in-home visits. 
  2. Compile assessments for evidence of growth of achievement. 
  3. Adjust in-home lessons and family engagement strategies as necessary to ensure success. 
  4. Develop schedules of in-home visits to meet families needs and that are efficient for program operations. 
  5. Supervise students when needed. 
  6. Maintain accurate student files. 
  7. Develop stronger parent involvement 
  8. Maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  9. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Pay is certificated summer school wage.
