Plan and Facilitate WSHS Community Contact Events for 2026-2027 School year

Purpose:  Support Teachers in Meeting the Community Contact Hours required by the CBA

In order to:

"fulfill the community contact portion of the evaluation criteria, an additional community contact day (7 hours) is provided as compensation for required attendance at Family Math Night, Family Literacy Night, Open House, and any other event or activity as mutually deemed appropriate by the Association and the District as shown on the annual Community Contact Day Form.” (MAEA contract language, 2025-2027, Section 2 District Days, A.3., p. 48)

The CEL framework, Under Communication And Collaboration With Parents And Guardians (PCC2), proficient says, "Teacher communicates with all parents and guardians about goals of instruction and student progress using multiple tools to communicate in a timely and positive manner.  Teacher considers the language needs of the parents/guardians."

It is a district expectation that teachers share academic, learning information with parents/guardians at these events.  Examples include:

  1.  September 9th. 2026- Tailgate party with information concerning attendance, content and school information. Held before a football game.

  1.  November 18, 2026- Student showcase

  1.  March 24, 2027- Student showcase
